ABOUT US
Mentoring, Life Skills, and Equipping for Life
Sonwabise-Tese is a community outreach initiated and run by, Barbara Chisvo and Yandiswa Mazwane. We saw a need in the local community of Masiphumelele in Cape Town, South Africa. We reach out and offer to mentor young women and to impart life skills and wisdom necessary for living life well.
They meet weekly with 30 - 60 young girls (ages 10 to 18). They play, share, teach, mentor and build deep, caring relationships together. Sonwabise-Tese teaches art, baking, sewing, cooking and knitting. They also supplying girls with toiletries and sanitary products on a monthly basis.

NEWS AND NOTES
ANNUAL "FULL MEAL"
Around the holidays, the question is thrown around, "What would you like for Christmas?" The answer we got from one of our Sonwabise Tese girls totally surprised us. She said, "I want a full meal." She meant: 7 colours, the starter, salads, main and dessert. All she wanted for Christmas was a nice meal.
Our leaders were so touched by her simple request, they bent over backwards to make it happen - not only for her but for all 60 girls!
